The Nikon TC-14E III AF-S provides a 1.4x increase in focal length. It is designed to be used with Nikkor AF-S and AF-I telephoto lenses. It's not intended to work with all AF-S lenses, only the telephotos. Other lenses physically won't mount on it. With our inventory of lenses, this means that it only works with the Nikkor AF-S 105mm f/2.8G VR, all versions of the 70-200mm lenses, the Nikkor 80-400mm AF-S f/4.5-5.6G ED VR, and the Nikkor 300mm AF-S f/4E. The aperture is reduced by one stop on all lenses. On the 105mm lens, the focal length becomes 147mm, the image is sharp, but the autofocus is not supported. On the other lenses mentioned here, the autofocus and VR functions are supported.
This teleconverter is NOT compatible with the Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 SP Di VC USD G2 (for Nikon)
