If you're serious about macro photography, this is your lens. It has the greatest depth of field of any macro lens and the images are extremely sharp. The tilt function allows you to control the direction of your depth of field to match your subject, which opens a whole new world. This Nikon 85mm tilt-shift lens provides 8.3 degrees of tilt and 12.4mm of shift. This is often used in nature photography to produce photos with everything is in focus, including the subject, foreground, and background. This lens can capture the image when standard lenses can’t because you can handle a situation where you need a very large depth of field to keep everything in focus, a wide aperture to gather sufficient light, and a fast shutter speed to stop the action. A common example is photographing a field of flowers that are moving in the breeze. This does take some time to learn so allow yourself a few days practice before you’re ready to use it with confidence. Note this is a manual focus lens, and using a tripod is a must.
